WHY IS MY HAIR SO GREASY?

There is nothing more annoying than investing time in washing and drying your hair only to find that the next day your roots are oily or your hair strands are greasy!

There are plenty of reasons why this could be happening and we are here to shed light on just a few of them for you;

NOT GETTING YOUR HAIR CLEAN IN THE FIRST PLACE:

Have you noticed how clean your hair feels after a trip to the salon? That's because we do 2 shampoos and then condition. We make sure every inch of the head is covered during this process so that your head is squeaky clean when you arrive in your stylists chair.

ADD MORE WATER, NOT SHAMPOO:

If your hair isn't lathering up then instead of adding more shampoo just add a bit more water. This will save you money on using unnecessary product which believe it or not can weigh your hair down (even shampoo)

OVERWASHING:

It isn't just your imagination, it's real. The more you wash your hair the greasier it feels. This is true as every time you wash your hair you are stripping it of its natural oils that keep it healthy. If you wash too much then your scalp could over producing oil to compensate.

CONDITIONER:

Using too much conditioner or the wrong type of conditioner on your hair could be your problem. Remember, you only need a small amount as most are very highly concentrated and you need to apply it to the mid-lengths first working your way down to the ends. Your scalp needs very little if any conditioner at all.

YOUR PILLOWCASE:

If you've already invested in a silk pillow case then well done, they really are amazing and will do wonders for your hair. The question is how often are you washing it? If real silk then you'll need to wash it separately so you might be tempted to leave it longer between washes than you should. Remember, if you pillow case is dirty then your hair will be too as you are sleeping on it every night.

USING THE WRONG STYLING PRODUCTS FOR YOUR HAIR:

Who knows your hair type and texture better than you? Your hairdresser of course. Why not ask them which type of styling products are best suited to your hair and then you can be sure you are using the right products as incorrect product choice could also result in your hair becoming greasier than it should be.

Hope these tips have helped x
