Nearly one in 5 of us suffer from Mental Health related issues due to life in general and its certainly more common than you think.  From anxiety and depression to other disorders, awareness is key.  Due to this there is a self-care revolution unfolding before our eyes and thank heavens for it.  Something we love about the self-care revolution is how much it allows people to devote time for themselves.  It’s all about taking time out and doing whatever makes us happy and relaxed without feeling guilty.


We can only be the best versions of ourself if we look after ourselves. So, what is self-care?


Self-care is maintaining the wellbeing of our mind, body and soul.  Doing things that make us feel good. Finding what works for you is the key.  This can be anything from reading a book, going for a walk, meeting up with friends.  Exercising is a great way to get the body moving and clear the mind as it stimulates those endorphins that make us feel happy. 

Cooking or baking – both can be extremely meditative, and there’s nothing like making something delicious from scratch!

Meditating or keeping a journal is another good way to clear your head.  Putting pen to paper transfers information allowing you mind to breath again. 

The most important thing is to take that first little step into practising self-care.  It’s never too late to prioritise your mental health.
