There are so many hair treatments on the market and if you’ve ever researched them, it can be quite overwhelming to be honest. Here is a quick guide for you;
What they can do: Treatments can do all sorts of things; they can prevent damage, they can repair damage, make your colour last longer, add shine, reduce frizz, moisturise, smooth your cuticles, make your hair feel fuller and even improve the general health of your hair.
Types of treatments: The best and most effective ones are the professional ones that are only available in salon. The reason for this is that they are usually much more concentrated and powerful than ones you can do at home. Saying that, ones that you can do at home are definitely still good for your hair and it’s better than not doing any at all.
How often should I have a treatment: This really does depend on existing hair routine. If you use heated tools, if you swim, the length of your hair, if it’s coloured or if it’s natural and generally how well you look after your hair currently. If your hair is very dry and damaged or over processed then we would recommend a treatment at least once a week as overtime this will help get your hair back into great condition.
How long do they take: Again, this will depend on what treatment you have decided to have. We have several in-salon only treatments which take anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.
How do I choose which one is best for me: The best thing you can do is talk to your hairdresser next time you visit the salon. Tell them what your problem is, whether it be that your hair is dry or it’s breaking or that it’s lost its shine! Your hairdresser will point you in the right direction and let you know exactly which treatment you should be having to get your hair back on track.
How much do they cost? We have a great selection of in-salon treatments to suit every hair need. They start from just £4 and go up to £25 for the most intense treatment that we have called OLAPLEX. We also have an extensive range of take-home treatments so that you can continue the good work we have started for you in the comfort of your own home.
So, next time you visit be sure to ask your stylist which treatment would be best for your hair type and your specific problem that you’d like to correct.
