HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HAIR IN THE SUN

HERE COMES THE SUN - looking after your hair during the sunshine

If your hair has prolonged exposure to the suns UVA & UBV rays then of course like our skin without sunscreen it will become damaged.

What are the signs? The signs of sun damaged hair are easy to spot.  If your hair has become discoloured, dry, brittle, you have broken or split ends and is dry to touch then likelihood is it may be damaged.

Fact: The sun's rays act like bleach in that it will remove colour from your hair.  If you have lighter, finer hair then you are more at risk of damage than someone with darker thicker hair.  Darker, thicker, courser hair tends to be oilier which can act as a protection from the sun's rays

How to protect your hair:  Wear a hat to protect your scalp and hair?  If you swim in a chlorinated pool make sure that you rinse your hair thoroughly when you get out.  Use hair products that contact protection and then treat your hair with a nourishing mask to replenish any lost moisture.
